This is a favorite in my house and we've been cooking this up for years! I use the Instapot then finish the Short Ribs up by brushing with Sesame oil and Broiling them. Serve over Rice for a fall-off the bone feast.

Are your cows fed grain?
Absolutely not. From conception to consumption, our cattle are only fed on Certified Organic pastures during warm months and fed Certified Organic hay during winter months.
Why should I choose Downs Ranch Grassfed Beef?
Not all grassfed beef is created equal. If you're currently buying grassfed from the grocery store, chances are it is imported and not even raised in the USA. Country of Origin labeling laws have loopholes that allow international meat packers to send parts of carcasses to the US where, once the US butchers make the final cut and package it, the meat can be labeled as "Product of the USA". We like transparency and want our customers to be satisfied, knowing that the beef they put on their table is sustainably raised, humanely treated, and 100% grown in the USA. Additionally, we have been raising grassfed, organic beef since 2006 so our breeding program and finishing methods have been curated to produce phenomenal flavor and great tenderness. How do I cook your beef?
The key to cooking grassfed beef is to not overcook steaks. Grassfed beef is lower in saturated fat so it cooks quicker. If you are used to cooking grain finished beef, you will want to shorten the time by approximately 1/3. Medium rare is best. If you overcook it, then it can be tough due to the different fat composition. If you like well done steaks, then our beef may not be for you.
How is the meat packaged?
Packages are vacuum-packaged and flash frozen. Steaks come 2/package. Roasts are around 3 lbs and ground beef comes in 1 lb packages
How will I receive my order?
Orders are shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays. It will arrive boxed in biodegradable packaging, with dry ice so that it remains frozen.
Are you certified Organic?
Yes. Our pastures and beef animals are certified through CCOF.
Can I customize my bundle?
Our bundles are specially curated to provide you with a great selection that represents the whole animal. This is the best way to eat more sustainably. If there is a cut you don't want or have a special request, we will do our best to accomodate it with a trade in the same category (for instance a roast traded out for more ground beef). This will depend on what we have in stock and available.
